Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency postponed; won’t release on September 6

Due to the various controversies, Emergency, starring Kangana Ranaut, has been in the news for a week. In a stunning improvement today, the producers have chosen to defer the film's delivery. As such, it will not show up in films on September 6, as planned.

The issues surrounding the film most likely led to the postponement. According to Bollywood Hungama, on August 31, a case brought by Gurinder Singh and Jagmohan Singh was heard by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. These Mohali residents demanded that Emergency's Central Board of Film Certificate (CBFC) censor certificate be cancelled. They also said that the movie should be allowed to be reviewed by well-known Sikhs before it was released in theaters.


Bollywood Hungama further detailed in the very story that the CBFC has given the slices to be made in the film however the affirmation is getting looked at. According to the Hindustan Times, the CBFC's additional solicitor general Satya Pal Jain told the court, "It (the certification) has not been granted as of now." It will be granted in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations in this instance. Anyone with a complaint may address it to the board.

Emergency's release date and whether it will be delayed by a week are still unknown.
