Alliance season 2 to premiere on Prime Video on January 14, 2027; Kunal Kemmu to return

Prime Video has announced the second season of its reality show Alliance, which will start on January 14, 2027.The season will only be available on Prime Video, and Kunal Kemmu will be back as the host.

The show is an Indian version of a Dutch format created by John de Mol and is made by Banijay Asia.

The first season had 16 celebrities, called Allies, who took part in physical and mental challenges.They had to form alliances, change loyalties, and complete tasks to see who would win.

Prime Video is bringing Alliance back

The first season was Prime Video's first daily reality show worldwide, with new episodes every day at noon.

Prime Video said the success of the first season made them decide to bring the show back earlier.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video, India, said the first season showed that Indian viewers liked a reality show focused on strategy and gameplay.

"The response to Alliance Season 1 proved that Indian audiences are ready for a smarter form of reality entertainment.

The show didn't just find an audience; it created a group of fans who cared about every move, every alliance, and every change in the game.The love we got from Season 1 inspired us to not wait a full year before bringing back Season 2," he said.

Madhok added that the upcoming season will bring more excitement and new changes to the game.

"We are bringing back Season 2 sooner, with higher stakes, better gameplay, more drama, and a new 'System' that will test the Allies like never before.

Our partnership with Banijay Asia allows us to push the format even further.Alliance has become a major part of the unscripted scene in India, and Season 2 will help it become even bigger," he said.

Banijay Asia is also making changes to the format

Deepak Dhar, Founder and Group CEO, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said the new season will keep focusing on strategy and relationships while adding new ways to test the contestants.

"Alliance is a format that asks a simple question: when the rules keep changing, who can stay on top?

That tension between planning and human behavior made Season 1 so interesting, and it also gives us a lot of room to make the show better," he said.

"For Season 2, we've gone back to the core idea and found new ways to test the Allies, not just through the challenges, but through the decisions they make and the relationships they build.

We're excited to continue this journey with Prime Video and we will surely take the game to a new level," he added.

Kunal Kemmu will return as host

Mrinalini Jain, Group Chief Development Officer, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, also confirmed Kunal Kemmu's return as host.

"Alliance has a special kind of energy.

The challenge with bringing back a show that audiences loved so quickly is to keep what made it feel fresh while finding new ways to surprise them.Season 2 gave us the chance to do that, to reinvent the game without losing its main idea," she said.

Jain added, "We're also happy to have Kunal Kemmu back.

He brought a unique personality and sense of humor to the HQ in Season 1, and we're excited to see him take audiences through what is an even more unpredictable game this time around."

More details about the contestants and gameplay for Alliance Season 2 have not been revealed yet.

The new season will start on Prime Video on January 14, 2027.

Drishyam 3 Box Office: Ajay Devgn vs Ajay Devgn! Vijay Salgaonkar needs just Rs. 201.60 cr. to dethrone Singham from Top 10 franchises

The Drishyam franchise is close to reaching a big milestone at the box office.With Drishyam: The Conclusion coming to theaters on October 2, the Ajay Devgn-led series is likely to jump up on Bollywood Hungama's list of the highest-grossing Hindi film franchises of all time.

Right now, the Drishyam franchise is ranked 21st with a total collection of Rs.

307.67 crore in India.The first Drishyam made Rs.67.13 crore in 2015, and Drishyam 2 earned a huge Rs.240.54 crore in 2022.

Drishyam 3 is now in the race with big hopes.

Box-office predictions suggest it might open with around Rs.50 crore and could go higher, maybe even reach Rs.55-60 crore.Already, the film has sold over 1 lakh tickets at PVR INOX and Cinepolis by Tuesday afternoon, showing strong interest before its release.

That opening could be just the start.

To enter the Top 10, the Drishyam franchise needs to beat the current No.

10, which is Singham, with a total of Rs.509.27 crore.That means Drishyam 3 needs to make at least Rs.201.60 crore to move the franchise past Singham.

Interestingly, Drishyam 3 could surpass the lifetime collection of Drishyam 2, which was Rs.

240.54 crore, in less than a week.If that happens, the franchise will definitely move into the Top 10.

Looking at the current Top 10, it shows which group Drishyam is trying to join.

Singham is No.10 with Rs.509.27 crore, followed by Bhool Bhulaiyaa with Rs.518.82 crore, Animal with Rs.556.36 crore, Gadar with Rs.602.33 crore, and Baahubali with Rs.635.82 crore.At the top are Housefull, Stree, Ek Tha Tiger, Pushpa, and Dhurandhar.

The interesting part is that Drishyam 3 doesn’t necessarily need to have another huge opening to make the Top 10.

Just over Rs.200 crore would be enough.Given the film's strong advance sales and Bollywood Hungama's tracking of a Rs.50 crore-plus opening, the franchise is definitely in the running.

Of course, where it ends up will depend on how Drishyam 3 performs after its opening weekend and how well it holds in the following weeks.

But one thing is clear: after growing from Rs.67.13 crore with Drishyam to Rs.240.54 crore with Drishyam 2, the Vijay Salgaonkar story is now aiming to join the list of the biggest Hindi film franchises in India.

Rajkummar Rao and producer Dinesh Vijan were at the Day 2 of FICCI Frames 2026 to talk about their new movie, Prahaar.Later, they talked about Stree and the horror comedy series, and shared some big news.

Rajkummar Rao said, "Stree (2018) started as a small budget film.

But we all believed in the story and Amar Kaushik.He's funny and like us.On set, we all laughed a lot and had fun while making the movie.That spirit is clearly seen in the film."

He added, "Stree was Amar's first movie to be shown in theaters.

I haven’t shared this with anyone.When it started doing really well and made Rs.70-75 crores, Amar was worried.He asked, 'Is this film not making enough money?' I told him, 'That's a good thing, right?' He replied, 'No, it's making so much money for his first film?'"

Stree 2 (2024) made over Rs.

500 crores.When asked how Amar Kaushik felt about the sequel's success, Rajkummar Rao said, "At that time, he was ready.Then he said, 'Make more money!' In between, he made Bala (2019) and Bhediya (2022).Because of that, he became a producer's favorite!"

Dinesh Vijan then said, "Amar Kaushik is a very important part of Stree and the entire horror comedy series.

He is directing our biggest film in January, Mahavatar, which is about Bhagwan Parshuram.He'll finish that in June.And by the end of next year, we will start making Stree 3, which will come out in 2028."

He also said, "You can expect something completely new from Stree 3.

If I say anything more, you’ll be disappointed because he has just finished writing it.He feels I give away too many spoilers!But everything you loved about the previous films will be there.However, where it starts and ends will be a big surprise.So, it might come out on Independence Day or Christmas in 2028!"

Mahavatar stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead.

In Stree 3, besides Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee will also appear.Akshay Kumar is also expected to play a major role.

Love & War theatrical rights sold for Rs. 300 crores; Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, & Vicky Kaushal starrer sets records

Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed *Love And War*, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2027.The film is set to come out on January 21, 2027, and it marks Ranbir Kapoor's return to work with Bhansali after 20 years.There was a lot of competition among film companies to get the distribution rights for *Love And War*, with big names like Dharma Productions, Jio Studios, Anil Thadani, and Pen Marudhar all trying to win the deal.

  

A source has learned exclusively that the theatrical rights for *Love And War* have been sold for a huge amount of Rs.

300 crores."It's a global deal, and Pen Marudhar is going to bring out the biggest release of 2027 in January.There was a lot of bidding happening behind the scenes, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali got the best value from Pen Marudhar," a source said to Bollywood Hungama.

The same source added that Pen Marudhar and the people involved in *Love And War* are confident about recovering the theatrical investment and making big profits from the film.

"Ranbir Kapoor is one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema, and with strong support from Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, *Love And War* is definitely the biggest ensemble cast ever pulled off by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.It deserves the Rs.300 crore theatrical deal," the source said further.

The posters for *Love And War* were released last week and have gone viral on the internet.

Bhansali is now planning to launch a teaser, but it will be released around Diwali with *Ramayana*.
