Sheetal Menon opens up on Tu Yaa Main’s tepid box office performance despite overwhelming word of mouth: “You feel helpless at times…how do you convince people to come to theatres?”

After becoming well-known as an actor, Sheetal Menon has now stepped into filmmaking.Following her first directorial effort with the short film Siblings, she is ready to release her second short film, Duet, which is both personal and ambitious.Duet is supported by her husband and respected filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, and features Sidhant Gupta as a pianist dealing with a challenging time in his life.What makes Duet unique is that it is the first film to be released on Spotify.

Earlier this year, Bejoy also released a movie called Tu Yaa Main, which starred Adarsh Gourav, Shanaya Kapoor, and a scary crocodile.

The film was highly praised and was meant to be experienced on the big screen, especially for the moments where audiences would get scared and scream.However, despite all these elements, it didn't achieve the box office success it deserved.

Sheetal Menon, who was credited under 'Special Thanks' in Tu Yaa Main, talked about the film's box office performance in an exclusive interview.

She said, "You always hope that a film works.You put in your best effort and hope that it has everything needed to be successful in theatres."

She added, "But what exactly does a film need to do well at the box office?

You do your best and get a great response.Yet, the film had mixed results.It's disappointing in some ways, but you can't dwell on that.You have to get up, move on, and try again."

Sheetal admitted, "It wasn't easy.

Sometimes you feel helpless.How do you get people to go to the cinema and watch a film?We are living in a tough time where audiences aren't coming to the theatres as often.It's getting harder and harder."

Sheetal Menon added, "At the same time, there is still hope.

I don't think an experience like this would make anyone say, 'I'm never going to do this again.'"

Vikrant Massey joins Ajay Devgn’s Chauhaan; to play a layered grey character

According to reliable sources, Aanand L Rai has cast Vikrant Massey in a key role for Ajay Devgn's action thriller.

Sources close to Bollywood Hungama say Vikrant was very impressed with the script of Chauhaan and immediately agreed to play the role.

"Ajay and Vikrant are like two strong performers from different generations coming together in the same film.The audience is in for a real treat," the source adds.

Chauhaan is planned to start filming in the last quarter of 2026 and is set for a release on Gandhi Jayanti 2027.

The pre-production is happening in full gear.The film is expected to be a major hit in 2027, called the Dhurandhar of 2027!

Shagufta Ali calls Karisma Kapoor “over-ambitious”; shares thoughts on why her on-screen partnership ended with Govinda

Veteran actor Shagufta Ali recently talked about Karisma Kapoor and the famous Govinda-Karisma pair that was very popular in Hindi movies during the 1990s.She shared her thoughts with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel about working with Karisma and why the two stopped acting together.

When asked why Govinda and Karisma stopped working together, even after making many successful films, Shagufta said she thinks their partnership just naturally came to an end.

"Maybe they lost interest," she said.

"Perhaps the love and affection between them faded.You can never be sure about a heroine's mood.And being too ambitious isn't always a good thing.Karisma was over-ambitious.She was very hardworking, but she also had a lot of attitude," she explained.

Shagufta further explained that how actors behave on set and how they treat each other is very important for a good working environment.

According to Shagufta, the attitude an artist brings to the set and how they interact with others can affect the overall performance.

She said there should be a balance between co-stars, whether they are filming scenes or doing interviews together.

Shagufta also added that actors should support each other by giving cues during scenes, as teamwork can help improve the quality of the performance.

At the same time, she mentioned that her long career has taught her how to perform even without help from others.

Tusshar Kapoor opens up on 50 vanity vans at Welcome To The Jungle set: “Is it really justified?”

Director Ahmed Khan's film *Welcome To The Jungle*, starring 34 Bollywood actors, premiered on June 26.The movie's biggest draw is its large cast, but having so many actors meant a huge production setup.Recently, Ahmed Khan shared that the set needed nearly 50 vanity vans and about 250 cars each day.Actor Tusshar Kapoor has now spoken about the massive scale of the production and the cost involved.

Speaking to Screen, Tusshar said he was surprised by how many vanity vans were on set.

It often took him nearly five minutes just to reach his own van because of the long line of parked vehicles.He wondered about the daily cost for so many vans and the staff, and if having so many actors was really worth it.He admired Ahmed Khan's vision for a new genre in Indian cinema but questioned whether the high cost was justified.

He also praised Ahmed Khan for sticking to his plan despite a one-year break in filming.

Even when they resumed, Ahmed didn't cut corners and made sure everyone was on set as planned.

Tusshar addressed the topic of entourage expenses in Bollywood.

While he agreed that some comforts are necessary for actors to perform well, he believed there should be a limit."You need your hairstylist, your makeup artist, and some perks.But it shouldn't go beyond basic needs to become narcissism or to satisfy ego," he said.

He stressed the need for responsible spending.

"Some production houses support the director's vision, which makes sense.But when it's about showmanship and the producer is spending unnecessarily, that needs to stop.There has to be a balance," he added.

Ahmed Khan had previously spoken to The Hollywood Reporter India about the production's complexity.

He explained that while audiences only see the 34 characters on screen, the behind-the-scenes efforts are massive.Each actor has an entourage of about five people, adding up to 150 people just for the actors.Combined with a crew of 200, stunt teams, horse handlers, and 150-200 background dancers, the set often had between 700 and 900 people.Ahmed described managing the set as similar to organizing a large music concert every day.They needed two big areas because of the space required for the 50 vanity vans.

Salman Khan advises protesting students to return home, urges Sonam Wangchuk to end his fast: “If you want, will send you food from home”

Salman Khan has shared a message addressing the students involved in the ongoing NEET protests while also urging education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his fast.

Taking to Instagram, the actor expressed confidence that action would be taken against those responsible for the NEET paper leak and appealed to students to return home to their families.

  

In his post, Salman wrote, "The students are at top priority, educationally and security-wise, so they need not worry and have their parents worried for them.

The Honorable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am sure that he will take strict action against all those people who are responsible for this leak.So students, plz go back to your parents and homes."  

Sharing a special message for Sonam Wangchuk who has been on a hunger strike for over 25 days, Salman said, "Sonam, it's done, bro.

Don't extend this.Keep the spirit for another day if there be a need, which I doubt, and eat something.If you want, will send you food from home."  

Salman's latest post comes less than 24 hours after his earlier post where he expressed concern over the whole issue.

Apart from appealing to students, Salman also directly addressed Sonam Wangchuk, requesting him to call off his fast.The actor said that while the spirit behind the protest should be preserved if needed in the future, he believes there is no need to continue the fast at present and even offered to send food from his home.

Salman's statement comes amid the ongoing NEET protests, with students raising concerns over the examination process and demanding accountability in the wake of the paper leak.

His message has now joined the growing public conversation surrounding the issue, calling for reassurance for students while expressing faith that appropriate action will be taken by the authorities.
