Ramayana 2 delayed to 2028; Ranbir Kapoor & Yash starrer to release on Diwali 2028

The Ramayana film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash was originally planned to release in two parts on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.However, while the first part is set for release around Diwali 2026, source has learned that the second part has been postponed to Diwali 2028.

A reliable source shared that Namit Malhotra, the director, is deeply passionate about the Ramayana story and is going all out to deliver a cinematic experience that will leave a lasting impression on the audience.

Although the first part is set to release soon, the second instalment requires more time for filming.The source explained, "The scale of Ramayana 2 is much bigger, and the action sequences are more intricate than ever.Namit and Nitesh Tiwari want to create some truly original and unforgettable action set pieces for the global audience."

The source also stated that Namit is determined to bring the Indian story to a worldwide platform and is investing heavily in the second part, with a production budget of Rs.3,000 crore."Every frame of the Ramayana franchise will reflect this massive investment," the source added, hinting that the new release date for Ramayana 2 will be announced after the credits roll on the first part, which is set for Diwali 2026.

The early response to the film has been highly positive, and box office success is expected on the Diwali 2026 weekend.
