Kiran Rao and Saba Azad react to Imran Khan facing legal trouble over Mumbai protest; come in support of the actor

Actor Imran Khan joined a protest organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Mumbai, which started a discussion.Filmmaker Kiran Rao and actress Saba Azad showed their support for him on social media. This came after Imran reportedly faced legal issues because of his involvement in the protest, which brought attention to his citizenship and the rules for foreign nationals.

Kiran Rao shared a news story about the legal action against Imran on her Instagram Stories.

She expressed surprise at the development, saying, "Wah, now it's Mumbai police?" She also talked about Imran's long time in India, mentioning that he has been there for 40 out of 43 years. She added that he studied, worked, succeeded, failed, loved, and fought in the country.

Kiran, who was previously married to Imran's uncle, Aamir Khan, pointed out his deep personal and professional ties to India.

Saba Azad, who is in a relationship with Hrithik Roshan, also posted about the news on Instagram.

She shared a journalist's note about Imran being arrested. She expressed her disapproval, writing, "Whattttt!!!!?????This is absolute BS (bull shit)."

The controversy started when Imran joined a CJP protest in Mumbai that called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

After the protest, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya filed a police complaint, saying that Imran's participation broke the rules for foreign citizens.

The complaint was sent to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which told Imran to leave India.

The FRRO said that an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card doesn't allow foreign nationals to take part in protests. This order is based on the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, which lets the government regulate or limit the entry, stay, and movement of foreign nationals in India.

Other people in the entertainment industry, like Raza Murad and Ashoke Pandit, have also supported the idea that foreign nationals should not interfere in India's internal issues.

As more people share their views, Kiran and Saba's posts have added a celebrity angle to the debate around Imran's protest and the legal action that followed.
