Akshay Kumar’s Mohra to CLASH with Ranbir Kapoor-Yash’s Ramayana this Diwali; Gupt, Tridev, Yudh and Vidhaata re-releases also planned

The trend of re-releasing old movies started in 2024, when films like Rockstar (2011), Laila Majnu (2018), and Tumbbad (2018) did really well when they came back. Then in 2025, Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) had a big comeback and made over 40 crores, becoming the most successful re-release ever. The trend has slowed down a bit, but recently, Avengers Endgame: Encore did well. Now, another classic film, Mohra (1994), is set to return to cinemas.

Other re-releases like Gupt, Tridev, Yudh, and Vidhaata are also planned.

Trimurti Films, the makers of Mohra, recently shared a video on their YouTube channel confirming the re-release.
The movie will be back on November 6, which is during Diwali week. That means it will compete with the highly anticipated Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, and others.

Mohra will be shown by Rimpy Films International in a 4K remastered version.
The company has been sharing updates on social media, and confirmed that other classic films from Trimurti, such as Vidhaata, Tridev, Gupt, Yudh, and others, will also be re-released.

One of the theaters showing Mohra will be Heera Talkies in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
The single-screen theater will run Mohra in all four shows every day. That means it won't show Ramayana at all.

Meanwhile, Rimpy Films has also re-released Zora, a new film directed by Rajiv Rai, this week.
It is also playing at Heera Talkies in Agra.

Mohra stars Naseeruddin Shah, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, and Poonam Jhawer.
The film was a hit in 1994 thanks to its memorable scenes, strong cast, powerful performances, and unforgettable music by Viju Shah.

With Mohra returning in 4K, fans can enjoy the iconic songs like 'Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast' and 'Tip Tip Barsa Paani' in theaters.
However, the film’s clash with Ramayana could affect its showing. It remains to be seen how the competition plays out and if Mohra can win the audience's love again.
