Daayra marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s TENTH film to receive ‘A’ rating from CBFC; Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe also gets adult certificate

It seems like this is the year of adult films. After movies like Dhurandhar The Revenge, Mirzapur, Cocktail 2, Batwara 1947, O'Romeo, Assi, Bandar, and others, the two major Hindi films coming up next week also received an 'A' rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was approved by the CBFC today, September 11, with an 'A' rating.

The film is 143 minutes and 16 seconds long, which is 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 16 seconds. It is an investigative thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar.

Daayra is Kareena Kapoor Khan's tenth film to be rated for adults only.
Her previous films with an 'A' rating include Ajnabee (2001), Chameli (2003), Dev (2004), Omkara (2006), Kurbaan (2009), Heroine (2012), Udta Punjab (2016), Veere Di Wedding (2018), and The Buckingham Murders (2024).

Meanwhile, Vibe also received an 'A' rating from the CBFC today.
The film is an adult-only release.According to the CBFC website, Vibe is 145 minutes and 55 seconds long, or 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 55 seconds.

Vibe is directed and starred by Kunal Kemmu.
Other actors in the film include Preity G Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Vanshika Dhir, Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua), and Yashpal Sharma.Vibe is Preity G Zinta's second film since she came back to acting. Her previous film, Batwara 1947, released last month and also got an 'A' rating.

An industry insider said, "Daayra's 'A' rating makes sense as the film deals with a subject that is for adult and mature audiences.
However, Vibe looks like a fun entertainer that adults and even kids and teens can enjoy. It seems to be in the same style as Kunal Kemmu's previous directorial, Madgaon Express (2024), which was given a U/A rating. So, its adult certification might come as a surprise to many."

Both Daayra and Vibe are set to release in cinemas on September 18.
