The Hindi film industry is famous for its big family groups, where many well-known surnames are linked both professionally and personally.Families like the Kapoors, Bachchans, Salim Khan, Allu, Konidela, Akkineni, and Daggubati are often connected.These relationships have brought members from different film families closer.Recently, during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), a connection between Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan was revealed.
Amitabh Bachchan shared that Saif Ali Khan is connected to him through Kareena Kapoor.
He explained, "Raj Kapoor's daughter, Ritu Kapoor, has a son named Nikhil Nanda who is married to my daughter, Shweta Bachchan." This makes Kareena, who is married to Saif, a first cousin of Nikhil Nanda, linking Saif's family with the Kapoor family through marriage, and thus connecting it to the Bachchan family as well.
Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar appeared on KBC to promote their new crime movie, Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan.
Amitabh revealed the family link during the show, surprising both Saif and Akshay.Amitabh said, "Many people don't know this, but he is related to me." Saif was taken aback and asked, "Me?" Akshay was also surprised by the news.
Amitabh then explained the connection, saying, "Raj Kapoor's daughter Ritu Kapoor's son, Nikhil Nanda, is married to my daughter, Shweta Bachchan." This makes Kareena, Saif's wife, and Nikhil Nanda first cousins.
As a result, Saif's family is linked with the Kapoor family through marriage, and thus with the Bachchan family.
Amitabh then joked, "So now, I want to know, how should I address Kareena?
What will Kareena call me?" Saif replied with a witty remark: "Thank god that's not a question (on KBC screen)," which made Amitabh and Akshay laugh.
Amitabh and Kareena have worked together in movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Dev (2004), and Satyagraha (2013).
He has also shared the screen with Saif in Eklavya: The Royal Guard (2007) and Aarakshan (2011).
