Speaking about the film, Stubb shared a story that grabbed the attention of fans and movie lovers.
“Interestingly enough, before I came to India, my son suggested I watch Dhurandhar. I did. And one part of the movie's story was about fighting terrorism. I guess I'm happy to be part of that and look forward to the sequel, which is coming out on March 19,” he said.
His comments came just a day after the trailer for Dhurandhar: The Revenge— the sequel to the hit movie Dhurandhar—was released on March 7, creating a lot of excitement among moviegoers.
The movie continues the intense, real-life-inspired story of Hamza Ali Mazari, who is based on the real Indian spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The character gets into terrorist groups based in Pakistan that planned attacks on India, and this forms the main story of the high-stakes thriller.
The sequel has a strong cast including Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and Akshaye Khanna, who will appear in flashback scenes.
The movie is written, co-produced, and directed by Aditya Dhar, who is known for directing Uri: The Surgical Strike. It is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
The first movie, Dhurandhar, came out on December 5 and was a big hit, praised for its engaging story, strong performances, and national pride themes.
The sequel wants to build on that success with a bigger scale and more in-depth look into the world of spying.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is set to come out in theaters on March 19, 2026, during the festive period that includes Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Eid-al-Fitr.
And based on President Alexander Stubb's excitement, the movie’s reach might go far beyond India, increasing global interest in the series.
