Dhurandhar The Revenge Review {4.5/5} & Review Rating

Star Cast: Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi

Director: Aditya Dhar

Dhurandhar The Revenge Movie Review Synopsis:
DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE is the story of a spy and his amazing bravery.
In 2000, a 21-year-old army hopeful, Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh), kills MLA Sukhwinder Singh and his 11 family members after they kill his father and brutally gangrape his sisters. Jaskirat is sent to jail and, two years later, he is recruited by Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan) for Operation Dhurandhar. The story then jumps to 7 years later, on August 11, 2009, two days after Jaskirat, now known as Hamza Ali Mazari, kills Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). Arshad Pappu (Ashwin Dhar) takes over Lyari while Hamza, Uzair Baloch (Danish Pandor), and others are in grief. Soon, Hamza and Uzair fight back. Uzair brutally kills Arshad Pappu, and the violence is so shocking that the Pakistan government is forced to arrest him. As a result, Hamza becomes the king of Lyari. He then steps into politics and becomes the king of Karachi in no time. His reputation grows so much that he catches the attention of Bade Sahab. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Dhurandhar The Revenge Movie Story Review:
Aditya Dhar's story is well-researched and full of entertainment and drama.
His screenplay, with additional help from Shivkumar V Panicker and Ojas Gautam, is engaging from start to finish. Therefore, the movie doesn't feel boring even though it's long. However, a few parts feel a bit slow. The dialogues add to the drama and humor. Unfortunately, many abuses are not shown, which breaks the flow of the story.

Aditya Dhar's direction is excellent.
His strength lies in his belief and willingness to take risks. In the first part, DHURANDHAR [2025], he amazed the audience with the world of Lyari. But the sequel takes the audience away from that world. Instead, the flashback of Jaskirat becomes the focus. The 2009 parts start almost 30-40 minutes into the film. Fortunately, the risk pays off as the opening chapter (called "A Burnt Memory") is both captivating and emotional. The Karachi parts also have charm, and the stakes are higher for Hamza as he delves deeper. There are also references to real people and events, which adds to the appeal. The intermission scene is a shocker. Some standout scenes include Uzair killing Arshad Pappu, the confusion after the interval, Yalina confronting Hamza, the highway madness, Ajay getting a video call, and more. Aditya saves the best for the finale, which is sure to be loved. The film ends with a touching and unexpected yet justified ending.

On the flipside, despite Aditya Dhar's efforts, a few scenes feel stretched.
The second chapter, named "Lucifer," is the least exciting part. A few disturbing scenes seem unnecessary. Also, the soundtrack is not as exciting as the first part.

Dhurandhar The Revenge Movie Review Performances:
Ranveer Singh was a bit overshadowed in DHURANDHAR.
In this movie, he gets to shine and gives a fantastic performance. He has delivered many memorable roles before, but this one is something special. His portrayal in emotional scenes is deeply moving. This is easily his most accomplished performance so far! Arjun Rampal continues with his intense acting from the first part. His scenes with his father are especially memorable. Sanjay Dutt has more screen time here and is dependable as usual. R Madhavan is excellent, and Rakesh Bedi, who was great in the first part, is even better now. Sara Arjun has less scope, but she's the heart of the film and delivers a superb performance. Danish Pandor gives strong support, while Saumya Tandon (Ulfat) has a brief appearance. Ashwin Dhar, Manav Gohil (Sushant Bansal), Bimal Oberoi (Shirani), Aditya Uppal (ASP Omar Haider), Ankit Sagar (Javed Khanani), Vivek Sinha (Zahoor Mistry), Mashhoor Amrohi (Nawab Shafiq), Madhurjeet Sarghi (Prabhneet Singh), and others all perform well. Danish Iqbal (Bade Sahab) and Salim Sidiqui (Atif Ahmed) leave a strong impression. Yami Gautam Dhar (Shazia Bano) has a major cameo.

Dhurandhar The Revenge movie music and other technical aspects:
Shashwat Sachdev's music may not be as legendary as the first part, but it has charm and is well incorporated.
"Aari Aari" is the best, followed by "Jaan Se Guzarte Hain." "Destiny - Mann Atkeya" is emotional, while "Main Aur Tu" and "Jaiye Sajana" are memorable. "Phir Se," sung by Arijit Singh, is touching. Shashwat Sachdev's background score enhances the impact.

Vikash Nowlakha's cinematography is stunning.
Aejaz Gulab, Sea Young Oh, Yannick Ben, and Ramazan Bulut's action sequences are more intense than the first part. Smriti Chauhan's costumes are authentic. Saini S Johray's production design (with additional help from Rupin Suchak) is realistic and elegant. Envision VFX, Philm CGI, Redefine, and R2 VFX provide appropriate visual effects. Shivkumar V Panicker's editing is engaging, though the film could have been shorter.

Dhurandhar The Revenge Movie Review Conclusion:
Overall, DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE lives up to its huge hype and gives a long but thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying cinematic experience.
The action scenes and dramatic moments are powerful, the plot twists surprise you, and this time, the film also leaves a strong emotional mark. The performances are top-notch, with Ranveer Singh delivering what could be his finest performance ever. At the box office, the film has already made record-breaking numbers and looks set to surpass the success of its predecessor and become the highest-grossing film of all time.
