“A humble request to all those who left their jobs after watching Tamasha – be successful and be a good example” – Imtiaz Ali

The movie Tamasha, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, came out in 2015. It didn’t do very well at the box office, but over time, it gained a lot of fans and became a cult favorite. The story is about a man who is unhappy with his boring job and eventually decides to quit in order to follow his dream. The film made a strong impact, and it's common to hear people talk about leaving their jobs to pursue their passions, especially in creative fields. Imtiaz Ali, the director, shared his thoughts on this during a fan meet in Mumbai hosted by Laksh Maheshwari.

He repeated the same message again.

Imtiaz Ali also talked about balancing life.
He said, "You need to eat food and wear good clothes. But for that, you need to earn money. And if you want to holiday in Switzerland, you need to earn even more! The idea is to balance it out. There's no other option. Your body will make it balanced. You have to survive and you should survive so that you can prosper and do what you want to do even more."

He shared a personal story.
Once, while having a meal in a restaurant, he saw a man from another restaurant running towards him. The man said, "I left my job after watching Tamasha." Imtiaz asked him, "Did you leave or were you asked to leave?" The man was very emotional and passionate. He was the first person to tell Imtiaz that the movie inspired him to leave his job.

Imtiaz told him, "Work very hard.
Make a success out of yourself." Otherwise, the man might come back and say, "It is because of this guy that I am in pain!" So, Imtiaz asked the people who left their jobs, "Please bring success to your endeavors. If you don't, then you're not inspiring other people to be able to do it."
