Inside Bollywood’s Old-School brotherhood: Why Akshay Kumar spoke to Salman Khan before announcing Bhooth Bangla for April 10

Akshay Kumar recently revealed that his film *Bhooth Bangla*, which marks his reunion with director Priyadarshan, is set to release on April 10, 2026. This news quickly made its way to Bollywood Hungama, which also reported that Salman Khan's *Battle of Galwan* was being moved from its original release date of April 17, 2026. This change sparked rumors that *Battle of Galwan* might be avoiding a potential clash with *Bhooth Bangla*, but the truth behind the scheduling adjustments is more complex than it first appears.

According to reliable sources, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan had a conversation before any changes were made to their release dates.
"Akshay and Salman are really good friends and they don’t keep things hidden from each other, unlike some of the newer actors. They share everything openly and honestly. Akshay asked Salman if *Battle of Galwan* was planned for April 17, and Salman confirmed that things were complicated due to pending approvals from the Ministry of Defence," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

At that point, Akshay shared his plans for *Bhooth Bangla* to be released on April 10.
"It was a very genuine and open conversation, and there's absolutely no rivalry between the two of them. They have a deep mutual respect for each other and support each other’s success. You never know; the right script might bring them together in a film that features both of them as lead actors," the same source added.

Now, *Bhooth Bangla* is officially set for a release on April 10, 2026, while *Battle of Galwan* is expected to be postponed to the Independence Day 2026 weekend.
