Elnaaz was in Germany for the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) and traveled from Berlin to Munich to be part of the protest.
The event happened on Valentine’s Day, a day usually connected with love, but for many participants, it symbolized unity and support for people protesting inside Iran.
Elnaaz shared her feelings about the experience.
She said, “I can’t even begin to explain how heavy this feels. We are seeing our loved ones suffer back home. Being there in the protest, even for a few hours, felt like the least I could do. I wanted to let them know they are not forgotten and they are not alone.”
She also added, “This day is called Valentine’s Day, but for us it is about a different kind of love.
It is love for our brothers and sisters who step onto the streets knowing they may never return. They risk their lives for freedom. So those of us outside Iran must raise our voices louder, safer, and stronger for them.”
Elnaaz also mentioned the messages of support she has received from India.
“I have received so many messages from people in India saying, ‘We stand with you, we stand with Iran.’ That support gives me strength on days like this. It reminds me that this is not only Iran’s fight, it is a human fight,” she said.
Through her participation in the Munich gathering, Norouzi joined thousands calling for freedom, dignity, and justice for the people of Iran.
