According to a report by Mid-Day, the sequel depends a lot on its villain.

"Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are two names being considered. Their ability to play complicated and hard-to-predict characters makes them great choices for the Tumbbad world."

The makers are looking for more than just a regular villain.

 They want a character that is deeply psychological and morally unclear — someone who can match the dark presence of Sohum Shah in the growing mythological world.

The rumors come as Tumbbad 2 is gaining a lot of attention.
