Amitabh Bachchan hints astrology behind Ikkis release shift, not box office clash with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has explained the actual reason why the movie Ikkis, a much-expected Bollywood war film, has been delayed. Many people in the industry thought the delay was to avoid competing with big box-office hits like Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar or Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri during the Christmas period. But Bachchan said the main reason was based on advice from astrologers.

The film was originally planned to come out on December 25, but it has now been moved to January 1, 2026.
Bachchan shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), writing in Hindi that the film was first set for "25th" but will now release on "1st" because some astrologers believed this date was more lucky for the film. He also encouraged everyone to accept the change.

This is different from earlier reports that said the delay was to avoid competition during the Christmas weekend, when Dhurandhar is still doing well at the box office and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is set to open.

Ikkis is an important film for Agastya Nanda, who is Bachchan's grandson.
It's his first major movie after his debut in The Archies. The film is inspired by the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was the youngest person in India to receive the Param Vir Chakra. It highlights bravery and sacrifice. The cast includes Jaideep Ahlawat and Simar Bhatia, who is making her acting debut. The late Dharmendra also appears in the film, which adds emotional depth as it's his last screen role.
