CBFC reduces kissing scene in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari by 60%; mutes ‘guard’

Two days remain until the release of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, and advance bookings have started quickly. As expected, the makers finished the censorship process six days before the film's launch. In this story, we'll look at the changes made to the rom-com.

Fans will be pleased to learn that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved the film with just two cuts.

The first change is that the word "guard" has been removed from the film, wherever it appears. This likely occurs in a scene where Varun Dhawan's character, Sunny, says a rude word and then claims he actually said "guard."

The second change is that the Examining Committee of the CBFC has cut 60% of the close-up kissing scenes.

The makers were also asked to include a message about anti-alcohol.

After these changes, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was approved with a U/A 13+ rating.

According to the censor certificate, the film is 135.45 minutes long, which equals 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 45 seconds.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will be released worldwide on October 2.

The film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhinav Sharma. It is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Shashank's Mentor Disciple Entertainment.

The trailer for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was unveiled on September 15 in Mumbai.

All the cast members were present, except Sanya Malhotra. When the host asked where Sanya was, Varun Dhawan said, "Sanya is a very important part of the team. The best part of the team is her! We have a cut-out of Sanya so we don't miss her!"

The host then asked the audience for "a big round of applause" as Sanya Malhotra's cutout came on stage.

Maniesh Paul, in his usual style, made everyone laugh by saying, "This is the first time Sanya is ready so quickly because she didn't need to do much makeup! She's here!"
