Metro…In Dino director Anurag Basu doesn’t want to return to horror despite it being the flavour of the season: “I was labelled as ‘HORROR KING’ because all horror TV shows were directed by me but…”

Anurag Basus Metro .... Thanks to Dino for the box office, performance and music. Over the years, filmmakers have become known for their films about relationships and human dramas. However, there was a time when he specialised in  horror content. His first film as a well-equipped director, Saaya (2003), was a supernatural grade along with John Abraham and Tara Sharma. Ghost related movies were scary back then, but they weren't new movies from the time.  Horror is  the taste of this season. Does Anurag Basu want to go back to his roots? Bollywood Hungama  asked him this question exclusively, and he answered: »There was a time when I was only scared on TV. I was called "Horror King" because all the horror shows were led by me (smiles). I got tired of trying everything in this genre. I was quite tired and later decided when I started guiding me for the big screen.

Anurag Basu continued, but I enjoyed the horror on TV. In fact, I got my first film thanks to the television show Ajeeeb Dastaanâ. Bhatt Saab (Mahesh Bhatt) loved the show and provided us with a film.

Anurag Basu is not known for hunting formulas. At Metro... At Dino, Aditya Roy Kapoor is aware of China's Sezwan Masala Dosa Sara Chennai Se China, Sub-Cover Ka Liya Raha Kahin Kanahin. This  also applies to many  films that try to include more elements to address a larger audience. Ultimately, the film doesn't appeal to  the public or class.

His films are likely unconventional, but this mantra is personally followed by Anurag Basu  as they work well with the target audience in the city. When we made this observation he smiled and he said: Yes, it's the key. Movies only work when they are real. It doesn't matter which genres belong to, romantic, action, or thriller, but it's important  that the director tells the story honestly.

After all, Metro is...Dino isn't the only publication of Anurag Basu in 2025. In Diwali he comes without titles with Kartik Aryan and Threellira. When asked how the film developed, he replied: It's fantastic. This is also why I take a break, so  I can jump in right away. I'll start the next schedule right away.
