Netflix ups offer from Rs. 60 cr. to Rs. 125 cr. for Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par to stall YouTube release strategy

In one of the most important streaming deals of the year, Bollywood Hungama learned that Netflix has more than doubled its first offer to win digital rights for Aamir Khans ahead of the film Sitaare Zameen Par (STP), and has now learned to tip Rs over. 125 crores to secure the expected movie.

The streaming giant originally made an offer in the field of Rs. 50 crores, the number rose for most Bollywood titles. However, the dramatic leap in review comes as a response to sustained advocacy, named YouTube pay-per-view, named Aamir Khan's Alternative Digital Distribution Model.

New Digital Battlefield

Aamir Khan is known for his highly independent thinking and unconventional marketing decisions, informing him of his complaints with traditional subscription-based streaming platforms. Last year, the superstar spoke extensively about making his films available on YouTube via pay-per-view models, claiming that such a platform ensures much greater accessibility to Indian target groups, particularly in Animal-2 and Animal 3 Cities.

According to Khan, the model allows viewers to watch new films for a nominal single fee handled by Paywall's expensive monthly subscription. This type of publication allows for deep penetration - the film can be accessed by anyone using a smartphone. He had given the results of the closure industry earlier this year.

Netflix increases usage

This courageous attitude appears to be working on the traditional streaming Giants, leading to the indictment of Netflix maintaining Sitaare Zameen par from YouTube. "Movies of films to YouTube-Pay-Per-View models can interfere with the entire ecosystem," says a senior industry insider near negotiations. When Aamir promotes it, it encourages more filmmakers to pave directly through open platforms. This means

He adds: Netflix is no longer about the possibilities of movies - it's about protecting your lawn. The credibility of Aamir's audience and the project makes it a critical moment for India's OTT strategy.

Will Netflix win this tug of war?
It is still unclear whether Aamir will accept high offers from Netflix or adhere to a disruptive publishing strategy, but the business is undoubtedly high. When Khan chooses the pay-per-view route for YouTube, he is able to redefine the economy and audience of mainstream Briwood films, and perhaps redraw the digital map of Indian film distribution.

At this point, all eyes remain in Ciara Reza Menper - not only due to the promise of the film, but also due to the structural shifts she can bring to the entertainment industry as a whole.
