Maa Movie Review: MAA is a one of a kind mythological horror film

MAA Review {3.0/5} & Review Rating
Starline-UP: Kajol, Kherin Sharma, Ronit Roy

Film Criticism: Unique Mythical Horama is based on some good performances

Director: Vishal Fria

Maa Movie Review Synopsis:
Maa is the story of a woman trying to save her daughter. Ambika (Kajol) lives with her husband Schwankar (Indian Delnier Centa) and Kherin Sharma, daughter of Kolkata. Swangkar originally came from Chandarpur, West Bengal, and broke all contact with his stem village. Shweta visits Chandarpur, but Shwankar refuses to hear her plea. On the same day, Schwankar learns that his father (Ashit Chatterjee) has passed away. Shuvankar reaches Chandarpur and completes the final ritual. He attacks Salpunch's Joydev (Ronit Roy) and expresses his desire to sell his villa. He goes to Kolkata the same night and dies under mysterious circumstances. Ambika and Shweta are shocked and can continue their lives. A few months later, Joydev tells Ambika that the broker will arrive in a few days to sell his property. As Shuvankar was finally wishing to complete the sale, Ambika decided to go to Chandarpur to do the poor people. Shweta also joins her. Because she doesn't want to leave it alone. Both reach Chandapur, leading to insanity. What happens next is the rest of the film.

Maa Mision Story Review:
The story of Saiwyn Quadras is worthy of praise. The scripts in Saiwyn Quadras are exciting for most parts, but in some places they are confusing. The dialogue between Aamil Keeyan Khan and Ajit Jagtap is simple and difficult if necessary.

Vishal Furias' directions are promising. He manages to create a very scary atmosphere, which increases dramatically in the effect. Action touches chords. Because that means mothers are fighting for their children. As a result, there is a universal appeal. I've also seen horror films and horror comedies, but MAA stands out because it's a mythical horror film. This makes it a unique film. Some scenes failed like the deaths of Schwankar, Ambika and Shweta. After the interval, the car scene takes the cake. Highlights are arrested.

VFX, on the other hand, is sticky in some scenes. Films such as Shaitaan [2024] and the Maddock Cinematic universe also set benchmarks for this zone in terms of CGI. The makers do that in a few scenes, but VFX leaves a lot of desirable things in the rest of the film. Some developments are simply stupid and can lead to unintended laughter. Additionally, the maker should ideally terminate the film at a certain point. The final scene discourages the audience and violates the film's ideas and title. Another factor considered a taboo is the definitive act of a girl receiving the first period, but it cannot be denied that it is an interesting idea. MAA Movie Review Performance:
Kajol destroys the performance and once again proves that she is one of the best actors of our time. The climax is very fiery. Kherin Sharma offers competent support. Ronit Roy is a surprise in the film, and this is certainly one of his most successful appearances. Inddraneil Sengupta is a lovable one in supportive roles. Jitin Gulati (Shekhar) does well, but his character makes a raw deal. Gopal Singh (Bikash) and Dibyendu Bhattcharya (Bimal) are impressive, but Rupkatha Chakraborty (Deepika) and Surajasikha leave the giant park. Aashit Chatterjee, Vibha Rani (Purohita; Alt), and Yaaneaa Bharadwaj (Purohita; Jung) are fair.

MAA Film Music and other technical aspects:
The song - Kali Shakti is unforgettable, but his photos are impressive. Amal Mohile's background ratings increase the effectiveness. The same applies to Pushkar Singh's cinema shoot. R P Yadav's behavior is a bit bloody and works well. Sheetal Duggal's production design and Radhika Mehra's costume complement the action. The NY VFXWAALAS VFX is a mixed bag as mentioned above. Sandeep Francis processing is functional. MAA Movie Review Conclusion:
Overall, MAA stands out as a unique mythical horror film, especially on Kajol and Ronit Roy. But it suffers from sticky VFX, inconsistent writing, and unacceptable points of behavior.
