Karan Johar slams ‘herd mentality’ as he talks about Pushpa, Chhaava, Stree 2 success; addresses spy universe craze and asks, “How will I stand out if I copy?” – EXCLUSIVE

Karan Johar is known for his openness, and in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmakers once again shared some harsh findings. From genre fatigue to obsessiveness in the cinema universe, Johar did not refrain to express his views on why originality is praised and not failing.

I think everyone is doing what others do to do what others do. I think I'm a group. So you can see how the pushpa works strongly for a three-person audience with two parts and standing. Suddenly there will be 20 other people who want to do the same thing. You will understand how Chaava works and everyone will want to do a historic drama! All horror comedies want to make after the streets. People who worked because they were individually strong and had no other options in this genre. And that was the unique idea that ran these films. Karan told Bollywood Hungama. Johar has emphasized that he is known for his wide range of stories in all genres and does not pursue a tendency to construct a film universe. For him, storytelling is a real universe. Kjo said: When someone asked me the other day, I said they have universes, so he said: You know how my universe is a world of comedy genre. I said my universe is the film itself. My universe is a story. I'm not here to build the universe. I'm here to tell the story.

He continues, and if there is a universe in this story, why? More power (to topic)! I love that there is a world of horror comedy created by Maddock  and grown very beautifully. That's great. What Dinesh Vijan did is outside. I consider Aditya Chopra very much - as I said, he is my mentor. The spy universe is great, but when I start emulating it

Johar has his passionate attitude with a strong memory of the fact that originality is the key to permanent success. My way of doing it is like  telling an individual story. And when there is space on this trip, does it come? But what we're fighting for is the pasture that is going back to your question and you're going to try to achieve the same success as what others are doing, right? Success cannot be emulated. As you know, you can't. You cannot force something you can't do. No, you can't imitate success. You can create it with your own personality, and he concluded that we should long for it.
