With $1.5 billion, Ronnie Screwvala surpasses Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan’s combined wealth

Filmmaker Ronnie Screwborough has earned a net worth of US$1.5 billion on Forbes World's Billionaire list in 2025. This number exceeds the total assets of Shah Rukh Khan (US$770 million), Salman Khan (US$390 million), and Aamir Khan (US$220 million), totaling $1.38 billion. This milestone will be announced on April 2, 2025.

From modest beginnings to the richest of Bollywood
In contrast to Khans, where assets are from proxy and public personas, Screwvala built assets through production and enterprises. The 68-year-old was born in Mumbai and started a toothbrush company in the 1970s after completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Mumbai. His entry into entertainment took place in the cable television business, which benefited from the rise of Indian color television in the 1980s. In 1990 he founded UTV. UTV has become a leading player in Indian media under UTV motion images.

Production loans from Screwvala include films such as Swades, Rank De Basanti and Jodhaa Akbar. In 2012, he sold UTV to Disney for over $1 billion, increasing his assets significantly. He later returned to filmmaking in 2017 with RSVP films, bringing successes like URI: The Surgical Strike and Kedarnath.

Comparison of prosperity: Screwborough vs. Khan
Shah Rukh Khans' $770 million net worth comes from his films Red Chillies Entertainment and the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team. Salman Khan is a production company and has made US$390 million from acting, hosting Bigg Boss. Aamir Khan $220 million is associated with selective but high speed projects, including Dangal. Together, her USD 1.38 billion from Screwborough will be $1.5 billion.
