Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra recently spoke about her decision to step down from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film Animal. In Rajat Sharma's Aap Ki Adalat, Parineeti revealed why she chose Imtiaz Ali's Chamkila over a blockbuster, a decision that would ultimately shape both her career and personal life.
Parineeti's Tough Decision: Animal vs Chamkila
During the episode, Parineeti Chopra revealed that she was initially offered the role of Rashmika Mandanna in Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. However, scheduling conflicts forced her to make the decision. She said, "Had to choose between the two films, I chose Chamkila because I was already invested in the story. Little did I know that the film would also have my own love story in it."
A love story beyond the screen
Interestingly, Parineeti shared that her decision to work on Chamkila indirectly introduced her to her now-husband, AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) leader Raghav Chadha. During the shoot, the two managed to meet despite their hectic schedules. Parineeti spoke about their first meeting at an awards function in London, where her brother Shivan's admiration for Raghav played a key role in her introduction.
Speaking about Parineeti's career trajectory, she made her debut with Ladies vs Ricky Bahl in 2011. Parineeti then quickly rose to fame for her performances in Ishaqzaade, Shuddh Desi Romance and Hasee Toh Phasee. After a few commercial setbacks, she delivered critically acclaimed performances in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraal and Saina. However, her performance in Amar Singh Chamkira is now hailed as one of her best.
