Baby John Box Office: Varun Dhawan starrer drops on Thursday, all eyes on growth from today

After collecting Rs 11.25 crore on Wednesday, all eyes were on how it would fare on Thursday. The film didn't start well initially and a slump was expected between the Christmas holidays and the next working day. Yes, the drop could have been well controlled thanks to the holidays. But word of mouth was average at best and it was a wait and see affair. 

Unfortunately, the film's results were not very encouraging as it only grossed around Rs 5 crore on Thursday. Even if a decline was expected, at least Rs 7-8 billion would have been expected after starting from Rs 11.25 billion. But the actual figure received is much lesser at Rs 5.13 billion. 

All this means that even if some growth is expected today, achieving double digits will be difficult. It will have to wait till tomorrow and hopefully it will happen, but it remains to be seen whether the Varun Dhawan-starrer film can surpass the Christmas Day box office collection on Saturday or Sunday. So far, the Kareese-directed film has collected Rs 16.38 billion in two days and ideally this should have been at least the opening day figure.
