Ranveer Singh-Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar gets Ponniyin Selvan actress Sara Arjun as female lead? Here’s what we know

Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna are all in the upcoming film tentatively titled Dhurandhar, which was shot in July of this year. Now, another intriguing name is the subject of buzz: Arjun Sara.

Peeping Moon reports that Sara Arjun and Singh have been cast as the romantic leads. Although the character's details are still unknown, it indicates a significant advancement in her career. She now has the opportunity to establish herself as a leading heroine in the industry after moving from child roles to adult roles.

She appeared in well-known films in both Hindi and Telugu cinema when she was a child. She may be familiar to viewers of Deiva Thirumagal by Vikram, Jai Ho by Salman Khan, and Saand Ki Aankh by Taapsee Pannu. She most recently played the younger version of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's character in the historical epic Ponniyin Selvan, which was directed by Mani Ratnam.

The casting of Sara is unquestionably a positive development, but it has also sparked some debate. Some people have expressed concern due to the obvious age gap between her and Singh—she is 20 years old, while he will be 40 years old next year. However, the nature of their on-screen relationship and the specifics of the film remain a mystery.

As previously stated, the film's core is a high-stakes mission. Singh portrays a key Pakistani operation by an intelligence officer. Khanna, Madhavan, and Rampal play Indian intelligence agents as well. Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, is said to be playing the antagonist.

According to the report, filming began in Thailand in July and is scheduled to continue in Mumbai and the UAE. The team behind the production hopes to finish filming by January 2025, paving the way for a release in the second half of the year. Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar are the film's producers, working with Jio Studios under their B62 Studios banner.
