David Dhawan postpones Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’s shoot due to hospitalization: “Varun refused to shoot with me. He told me, ‘Get well and then we’ll shoot’”

David Dhawan, one of Bollywood's most beloved and upbeat directors, is getting ready for an epic comeback. After nearly four years, he will once again take on the role of director for a romantic comedy that is said to be titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. His last film was Coolie No 1 (2020). According to the most recent reports, Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur will star in it, which is scheduled to open on November 6. David Dhawan recently spoke exclusively  and he provided additional information regarding the shoot.

According to David Dhawan, the initial plan was for the film to open in October, but the shoot was postponed due to his illness. Additionally, he stated that his son Varun insisted that the film be shot on floors when the director is in better health.

David Dhawan uncovered, "We'll shoot in Goa and on a set in Mumbai. I was also hospitalized, and I haven't been keeping well. My son was against shooting with me. He told me, 'Recover and afterward we'll shoot'. He was correct. Thus, I won't shoot in October. I had the dates however I declined (to take the film on floors)."

Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films is in charge of producing David Dhawan's 46th film, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Both had previously worked together on Coolie No. 1 and Kunwara, both written by Govinda-Urmila Matondkar. Tips and Pooja Entertainment worked together on the latter.

Ramesh Taurani recently spoke exclusively , and he also mentioned this film, saying, "It's on track. We'll shoot in November for 20 days. It will be released as scheduled on October 2, 2025. What might be said about reports that other than Mrunal Thakur, the film likewise stars Sreeleela? Ramesh Taurani closed down by saying, "No, she's not."

Varun Dhawan, on the other hand, is on a roll. His web series, Bastion: His much-anticipated action film Baby John will be shown in theaters on December 25 in addition to Honey Bunny, which will be released on November 7. In addition to David Dhawan's upcoming film, he is currently filming Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Janhvi Kapoor and Shashank Khaitan. It is anticipated that he will soon begin filming Border 2 as well.
