Can Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 collectively earn Rs. 1000 crores worldwide gross? Trade experts share their views

Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are scheduled to arrive on the same day during Diwali, and there are high hopes for them. While Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff star in Singham Again, Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri star in the horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Due to the conflict, there will be some cannibalization in numbers, but can these films earn Rs each? 1000 crores at the worldwide box office?

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh stated, "I sincerely hope so." Both are well-known brands, and it's festival season. It happens to be the third part of both films, and big names are also in them. These films must perform. Both films have benefited greatly from the trailers."

Roopbani Cinema owner Vishek Chauhan stated, "It is possible, but the major portion of the collections will come from the domestic market." Overseas, I don't see any extraordinary business. 60-70 percent of the business will be conducted domestically, with the remaining coming from overseas locations.

However, Miraj Entertainment Limited's Managing Director Amit Sharma stated, "Looking at the way Stree 2, Gadar 2, Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal have performed, both films have the potential of Rs. Each costing 500 crores, and only in India. If I speak globally, the number may be higher. The content of the films will determine how much they earn. On the off chance that one of the movies has unfortunate substance, it'll demonstrate negative to its film industry assortments and the other film will enjoy a benefit."

He also agreed that both movies have a lot going for them, and he said that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has big names and brand value, which would help it make a lot of money. Concerning Singham Again, he stated, "When was the last time we had such a massive multi-starrer?" From the same cop universe, Sooryavanshi (2021) was probably the last movie. It came after the second wave, and despite the rule requiring 50% occupancy, it made nearly Rs. 200 million in business. The Covid factor no longer applies, ticket prices have gone up, new cinemas have opened, and Additionally, there is a new member of the cast this time around. With these things in mind, the movie can easily make Rs. 350-400 crores, minimum.

Clash factor: "They will eat into each other's business for sure," said Amit Sharma, who agreed that the conflict will affect both films.

"If these films don't come together, both can do 15 to 20% more business without a doubt," Raj Bansal explained. Additionally, the film with less compelling material stands to lose the most.

He went on to say, "Both films appear to be potential blockbusters because Singham Again has a large star cast and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is a horror comedy, which is the trend in 2024." The content of their films determines how big they become at the box office.

The challenges that the films will face were outlined by Vishek Chauhan: "The Singham Again trailer is good but not extraordinary." The trailer for Sooryavanshi was superior. The trailer for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is good, too. As a result, as businesspeople, we must manage our expectations. Naturally, if they succeed, nothing else will compare. However, at this point, it would be unreasonable to anticipate them performing numbers like Jawan or Gadar 2. Additionally, the conflict will divide collections.

Additionally, he remarked, "OMG 2 (2023) survived because it catered to a different audience than Gadar 2." Both of these films are aimed at families and young people. Additionally, prices will skyrocket on Diwali, and the majority of people may only be able to afford one movie.

Amit Sharma replied, "Jagde hote hai (laughs)" when asked how a multiplex chain handles conflicts. We are busy organizing the show sharing until the very last minute. It escalates into an ego clash. I suppose it's normal for the business, and it's a good problem to have.

Additionally, he lamented that recently, films have clashed, resulting in a period of no major Hindi releases: "Two major films were released on Eid." It doesn't matter if it worked. Then, two months later, a significant Hindi film came to us. Three films clashed on Independence Day, and only two months later, on Dussehra, the major Hindi films Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Jigra were released. A conflict on Diwali will follow, resulting in no major release in November.

"One of the films should move by two weeks," Raj Bansal suggested. After that, that movie would be shown on all screens and have an open run until December 6, when Pushpa 2 comes out. "I'll see both films for sure" was his concluding statement.

“There were claims that the trailer has amassed a record number of views,” said Taran Adarsh, who gave the makers his final directive to concentrate on achieving box office success. Additionally, some trade critics hyped it up. However, you can watch the trailer for free. You need to get people to see your movie and make a lot of money at the box office. Nothing else matters at the end of the day except that.
