The Inside story of the Coolie No. 1 Battle between Rumi Jaffrey and Farhad Samji

Rumi Jaffrey, the first author of Coolie No. 1 is clearly angry with the progressions made in the screenplay of the revamp. A source from the group educated that Rumi was totally not for the progressions made by extra discourse author Farhad Samji.

Says the source, "Rumi and David return a long way. Truth be told, David's children Rohit and Varun Dhawan call him 'Uncle' and Rumi has snuggled them both in his lap when they were kids. Rumi has composed a dominant part of David's hits. At the point when David requested Rumi to compose the redo from their 1995 hit Coolie No. 1, Rumi was absolutely against the thought. He felt what worked in 1995 won't work now. In any case, David was resolved. He disclosed to Rumi not to stress and do it for the good of Varun."

Clearly the issues began when Farhad Samji was acquired to do the exchanges. Adds the source, "Rumi was told Farhad was in contact with the present age. He would get the contemporary feel. However, as the film advanced there were numerous progressions that Rumi was shocked about. The greatest of them being the change in Kader Khan's character. Kader Saab's Hoshiyar Chand was a feature in the first Coolie No. 1. At the point when Rumi was revealed to Hoshiyar Chand was currently Jeffrey Rozario (played by Paresh Rawal) he was frightened. He asked David for what valid reason the Hindu character in the first was changed over into a Christian and on the off chance that he was a Catholic now, for what reason was the Pundit, played by Javed Jaffrey coming to Rozario with a rishta for his little girl?"

Clearly it look bad to Rumi. Yet, David was especially positive about letting his child Rohit Dhawan and Farhad Samji "modernize" Coolie No. 1.

"Nothing seemed well and good to Rumi any longer. Rumi needed the melody 'Mirchi Lagi Toh' - which has a profound Mumbaiyya flavor - to be shot in the city of Mumbai the manner in which it was shot with Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. David with the guidance of his children and Farhad Samji, liked to shoot the new form of the 'Mirchi' tune in a studio," illuminates the source.

We talk with Rumi Jaffrey for his form of the story. Yet, he would not talk. "My relationship with David Dhawan returns to Shola Aur Shabnam in 1993. We for all intents and purposes grew up together in the entertainment world. Rohit and Varun resemble my own children"
