'Kahaani' tells the story of seven-month-pregnant Vidya  Bagchi, who flies down to Kolkata in search of her missing husband, all alone  in the festive city which is Produced and directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ which is directed by Sujoy  Ghish had seen a respectable opening day at the box office.

The volume of collections for the movie is come as of  Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore. ‘Kahaani’ is collected about  Rs. 2.95 crore net in its opening day (Friday).

Mumbai – Rs. 95 lakhs, Delhi/Up – Rs. 50 lakhs, East Punjab  – Rs. 19 lakhs, West Bengal – Rs. 30 lakhs, CP Berar - 9 lakhs, CI – Rs. 7  lakhs, Rajasthan – Rs. 9 lakhs, Nizam – Rs. 10 lakhs, Mysore – Rs. 20 lakhs and  other – Rs. 10 lakhs.

In its Thursday preview show the Kahaani has collected Rs.  88 lakhs and counting Thursday preview and Friday collection the movie has  collected Rs. 3.83 crore net at the Indian box office.

Meanwhile, KAHAANI collected Rs 85 lacs [approx] on Thursday [paid previews], while CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI, which had a limited release on Thursday, collected Rs 79.69 lacs.
