Andaaz 2 trailer expected to be out around Eid; Suneel Darshan opens up on casting Akshay Kumar in Andaaz to launching Aayush Kumar in sequel and why he chose newcomers again

The continuation of Andaaz (2003) was published this year, with producer director Suneel Darshan already presenting some of his assets. The teaser was announced on January 31st, but "Tere Bin Kahin Dil Na Lagey", "You Are Beautiful" and "Ishq Junooni Hai" were regularly dropped. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sunil Darshan spoke about the film and more.

What inspired Andaaz, a sequel to a film that came 22 years ago? Did Gadar (2001) Gadar 2 (2023) play a role? To be honest, I made Andas so there was no calculation. When I wrote the script I realized that Andaaz 2 was the right title. It's not the same story, but it was where the story was in the same zone, and it was also a triangle of musicals and love, such as Andeas. That's what we called Andaz 2. 

At what stage did Aayush Kumar get into the picture? It was occupied in 11 hours. Films have two important roles. I'm a lead guy friend. The captain still had to be occupied, and at the same time I threw people around his character. This brought Casting Director Aish. When I told him I realized that this guy could be a major role. I signed him, but he didn't think he would play the lead for a while lol! 

Andaz had Akshay Kumar and Andaaz 2 had Aayush Kumar! 

(laughs) Yes, that's a coincidence! 

Have you always been in favor of filling newcomers with Andaaz 2? yes. Even Andeas had a fresh line. 

Excluding Akshay Kumar... 

He was our internal hero for the rest of this time. For seven years we made some films together, which was a pretty good record. There were two newcomers in the film, and the film "Aayush Kumar" and Aakaisha. Natasha Fernandez has made a film with me (ek haseena thi ek deewana tha; 2017). Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta have become so great thanks to Andaaz. I hope the same happens to these two newcomers here! 

Have you been in touch with Akshay Kumar? Did you tell him about Andaaz 2? I have not seen him since Dosti (2005). I had no chance to meet him. He wanted me once or twice on my birthday. 

 I also saw a bit of action in the Andaaz 2 S teaser... 

yes. And it was temporarily present in Andeas. The campaign on Andaaz 2 is a little more (more than the first part). Nevertheless, it's not an action movie. It's a social and romantic movie. Andaz was at points in Prem Log (1982) and Milan (1967). Andaaz 2 is not featured in the movie games. There are new topics that I don't want to disclose at this point. But it's perfect for music, drama, comedy, action, and more. 

Speaking of music, Nadeem composed music. The teaser shows Andaas's song, Yehi Toh Dil Churane Ka Andaaz Hota Haiâ, is being recreated in the sequel. 

I thought the series should include some essential aspects. If the song is available, why not use it?

How long does it take to compose music? It took me a while to build the music. It was very important to the film's structure. This era was also made up of Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. You worked in all of our films. Sonu Nigham had just come at that time. But since 20 years have passed since then, we have been signing new and impressive singers. I had Shaan because he was suitable for one of the songs. Neraj Shridhar sang the song. From the young property, we have Ali, Palaq Mukkar, Asenes Kaur, Amit Mishra, Maud Irfan and Shadav Faridi. In short, there are nine singers. When can you expect the trailer to go outside? It should be around the vows. Theatre trailers usually come three to four weeks before the film is released. 

You have been working with panoramic films for a long time. Would you like to distribute Andaaz 2? I have decided to make one last call. They proposed to board the ship. I'd like to finish the film, show it, and decide. 

Recently, the windows have been reduced between the trailer and the film's release... 

Yes, because manufacturers often don't have that many materials (to promote). Recently, I only want hook songs and optional songs. That's all. We are Oriental - we are not Hollywood. Our topic is about Oriental Topics, how modern we are. Our music is so intrinsic to our storytelling and it has to be there.
