During a conversation with Gulte at IFFI, Sirish said the remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunam is in the works and that Akshay Kumar will be part of the cast.
The original film was directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju and Sirish. He also said that Sri Venkateswara Creations plans to release at least six films in 2026.
Sirish also mentioned that there is a plan to make a film with Salman Khan, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, who has directed several popular movies such as Munna (2007), Brindavanam (2010), Yevadu (2014), Oopiri (2016), Maharshi (2019), and Varisu (2023).
Additionally, Sirish confirmed that their production company will be making a film featuring superstar Pawan Kalyan.
Last month, source shared an article that said Anees Bazmee and Akshay Kumar loved the story of the main character dealing with his wife and ex-girlfriend, which is the core of Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
However, the original film had a lot of Telugu elements. To make it more suitable for Hindi audiences, Anees Bazmee is reworking the film, keeping the basic story the same.
The article also said that the writing is currently in full progress, and the team aims to start shooting the film in February 2026.
It's not a direct copy, but a reimagined version. The screenplay will include fresh scenes along with some original parts to keep the story's spirit. "It’s 60 percent new scenes and 40 percent original, so the core of the story remains intact."
